I am a 24 year old female born September 19, 1984 in the United States. I am blessed to have many people in my life that I love very much and can find comfort in knowing that they love me also. I started writing when I was five years old--just little ordinary things here and there. I enjoy being able to listen to people. It is during the times when I am listening that I hear some of the most incredible stories. I enjoy my family, my friends, and my cell phone very much. Monday is my least favorite day of the week. Friday is my favorite because the most interesting things seem to happen on Fridays. I have a silly yellow labrador named Colby. I do believe and trust in God. That is something I had to learn to do over the years--not really by anyone teaching me, but by being taught by life itself. Like everyone else, life still hits me with trials, tribulation, and sorrow. Some of it, yes, I brought upon myself, and I too have to learn from my mistakes. I am not spared from having to go through the storms of life, but I am given Peace in the midst of a storm. I am grateful for that.
My poetry is simple with little focus on following the rules. I go with the flow of my heart. For myself as a poet, there is a stronger need to inspire you with meaning than there is to please you with perfection. I will tell you that I am not a great poet--never have been, never will be. However, I am the poet that I am. I do accept critiques and appreciate most simply because I do make mistakes. I do not change my style. A writer's style is their identity and no one else should decide that but them.
